Our world a hundred years ago was a world of great distances: lands, mountains, seas, and oceans separating peoples and nations. Today, this world of ours has shrunk. It has grown so small that almost all corners are within reach. The lands, mountains, seas, and oceans can be bridged, unbelievably, in days, or house or even a minutes. Indeed, we now live in a global village.
Thus, we have become not merely citizens of our respective countries. We are becoming citizens of the world. As such, we must all share in the wondrous benefits bestowed on us by modern science and technology, as well as the heavy burden that accompanies these creation in the 21st century.
